This.course would be my first choice on this island. Pace of play was excellent, the value for the quality of course cannot be beat anywhere on the islands. Rental clubs for both men and women are top of the line brand new Titlests, including Scotty Cameron putters. The staff is the best. Especially Candy in the pro shop! I play four times a week at home and have played all over the world at some of the best resorts and will truly say the two rounds I played at Big Island CC last week were a couple two of the most enjoyable.

I will play this course every time i visit the Big Island. I love both the island green and #18. The wildlife on the course is unique as well as rare (Hawaiian Goose). The price is very reasonable compared with the resort courses. Be prepared for wind. If you hate wind, don't bother. I find the Big Island CC always interesting with some really great holes. The conditioning of the course is a little iffy in spots. If you want a perfect course, play Mauna Kea or Mauna Lani and spend $200-$300.

Wow, what can I say about Big Island Country Club............ Lots of goats, wild turkeys? Or the state of the fairways? How about getting from green to tees in OFF ROAD trailways. Played Big Island CC as part of a buddy golf vacation, only course we did not play 36 holes. the Big Plus? The island green...........

The course is a value especially if you book on line. It is cool and beautiful with plenty of wild birds and a few goats. But a very beautiful course with a nice staff.
The one thing is the greens are on the slow side. There are a couple of greens that seem to have different types of grass in the mix and run faster. Also there was one cup set too high in which a good putt popped out that should have went in. A couple of holes had severe breaks right at the cup. Very important to hit your putter firm with so many breaks at the cup.
Other than the greens the course was a value and I enjoyed it very much.
